TRANSCRIPT

At National Geographic Learning, we believe that great ideas stimulate learning and inspire communication. Our partnership with TED brings the power of ideas to the classroom to help learners find their voice in English. Our goal is to help learners express their own ideas in the classroom, the workplace, and the world. We choose talks that learners want to talk about, featuring the language that learners need to know.

Every lesson includes real stories and photographs from National Geographic and carefully sequenced language activities to help learners understand and talk about ideas in English. Each TED Talk is broken into short clips. Each short clip is supported with activities focused on language and skills.

“I just wanted to enjoy that one moment when all of you thought, “This guy is amazing!”

[Laughter]

“Then we're going to go over to the fridge, we're gonna see if there's anything new in there since ten minutes ago.”

“Because the people of TED reached out to me about six months ago and invited me to do a TED Talk!”

[Laughter]

“...what we're really procrastinating on, because everyone is procrastinating on something in life."

Using big ideas from TED, real content from National Geographic, and carefully developed language lessons, we help learners to think critically and communicate successfully. For instructors, we provide resources for planning, teaching, additional practice, and for assessment. National Geographic Learning programs with TED Talks bring the world of ideas into your classroom and help your learners find their voice in English.
